About the role
Every platform built on Nexus, from an insurer's claims system to a mission planner on a ship, depends on the same core. You will help build and run it. The work spans the AI switchboard that routes every model call, the private spaces that keep each customer apart, and the tooling that installs and upgrades Nexus wherever it runs.
You will join a small team that owns its services end to end: design, code, tests, release and the pager.
What you'll do
- Build and improve core services in the backplane, with a focus on routing, limits and isolation.
- Make installs and upgrades boring, including on air-gapped sites that update from a signed drive.
- Write down designs before you build them, and review other people's.
- Find and fix the slow, fragile or unclear parts of the platform.
- Take a share of on-call for the services your team owns.
What you bring
- Several years building and running backend services in production.
- Solid experience with Kubernetes, containers and infrastructure as code.
- Fluency in at least one of Go, TypeScript, Rust or Python.
- Care for security and for the people who will operate what you build.
- Clear writing. Most of our decisions start as a short document.
Good to have
- Work on multi-tenant platforms, identity, or secrets management.
- Experience running software in regulated or disconnected environments.
- Hands-on work with model serving or GPU scheduling.
What we offer
A role with real ownership on a product used in serious places, a team that writes things down, and the time to do the work properly. The written offer sets out pay, level and benefits.
How we hire for this role

- Your work. Walk us through something you built, or take a short exercise.

We give you an answer at every step.
